Rat Bikes - Cycloddity - and Jay's SumOddity Video

Do you ever watch American Chopper and think to yourself, "I would love to make a chopper but who can afford it?" Ratbike building maybe your avenue to explorer you inner Teutul.

Recently, I've been spending time with various people from church. One of the men from church, Kelly Haynes, invited me to a youth rat bike build activity at his house. For those who don't know, rat bike building is the activity of taking bicycles and building them using chopper type techniques (i.e. welding, grinding and hammering). One of Kelly's more common types of rat bike styles is the tall bike.

Kelly has created a MySpace web page, called Cycloddity, to act as the home for rat bike activities. Cycloddity can be found at: http://www.myspace.com/cycloddity and Cycloddity is currently made up of the component groups HRB, KCC2 and SST . Learn more about the Cycloddity component groups at the: Cycloddity Blog: Component Group article .

Here goes a couple of videos featuring Cycloddity's custom rat bikes. The Sumo Video is unreal. Just take a look at the reaction of the people on the streets.

Thanks for the post! I plan to make a few 16" kid-bike choppers so the younger riders can join in the chopperbiking fun!
